The prayer wheel is designed based on the original prayer wheel of Garchen Rinpoche. Following his guidance, it is small, lightweight, and hand-held, allowing practitioners to turn it easily, maintain focus, and sustain longer periods of practice.
Each prayer wheel contains a small piece of cloth from the thousand-year-old sacred prayer wheel at Gar Gon Monastery in Tibet, offered as a precious Dharma blessing to practitioners. In addition to prayer wheels containing different mantras, special original Mani prayer wheels are also available in accordance with Garchen Rinpoche’s instructions. These contain 50 million Mani mantras and 1 million Green Tara mantras.
THE PRAYER WHEEL PROJECT
The Prayer Wheel Project embodies the aspiration to support Dharma practice by providing high-quality prayer wheels for practitioners, generating positive energy for peace and compassion, and contributing to the spiritual well-being of both practitioners and the wider community.
Under the guidance and encouragement of Dorzin Dhondrup Rinpoche, and with the blessings of Garchen Rinpoche, Garchen Vietnam – Drikung Arya Tara Ling (Vung Tau City) initiated the Prayer Wheel Project on October 9, 2024.
One hundred percent (100%) of the project’s profits are dedicated to supporting Dharma activities, as well as the maintenance and development of the center. In addition, a portion of the profits is allocated to the Orphan Care Project, which provides adoption support, care, medical treatment, and education for orphans in Vietnam.
Benefit of Turning the Prayer Wheel
When the prayer wheel is correctly practiced, boundless merits and blessings are achieved.
